Overturned semi-truck lands on Metrolink tracks along westbound 10 Fwy in Rosemead

ROSEMEAD, Calif. (KABC) -- A semi-truck crashed and overturned onto train tracks that run along the 10 Freeway in Rosemead, forcing the closure of several westbound lanes Thursday morning.

The incident was reported around 3 a.m. at Del Mar Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It appears the big rig struck the center divider of the freeway before it overturned and landed on the Metrolink tracks.

Most westbound lanes were shut down as a result, creating a traffic mess for morning commuters that backed up for miles.

The overturned semi was eventually removed from the scene, but several lanes remained closed as crews cleaned debris from lanes. All lanes opened around 10:30 a.m.
